PERSONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

I always get requests to post messages of congratulations, good luck, and be safe to those that are promoted, retire, or are sent off to serve with our nations' military. I will also post non-LODD active and retired deaths here with the funeral information still being posted on the notice page when that information is submitted. Rather than keep posting them in various spots, I've decided to make this permanent page to post your well wishes on.

The Professional Firefighters of Merrimack Local 2904 are both pleased and saddened to announce the retirement of Master Firefighter Wayne Perkins, after a 28 year career, effective September 1st, 2009. We are pleased to see Wayne move on while still young and in good health, however, we are saddened because we are losing a seasoned Firefighter with volumes of knowledge.
Wayne began his career at Merrimack Fire Rescue in 1981, first as a Call-Firefighter, then, later that year, as a full time member. Wayne is a charter member of IAFF Local 2904. During his career he was twice nominated as Firefighter of The Year. Wayne has agreed to stay on as a Call-Firefighter to pass on his immense knowledge to our possible future members.
Most of you may know Wayne from his family business, WD Perkins Fire Pump repair which he can now devote more time to. Wayne is also an avid fire buff and a member of Box 52 Association. I'm sure we'll now see more of Wayne's photographs of local fire scenes.
I'd like to take this opportunity to personally thank Wayne for his tutelage. I am certainly a better Firefighter because of you. Best of luck and Godspeed.
Respectfully Submitted,
Firefighter Mark Bickford
Merrimack Fire Rescue
Vice-President L-2904
