Massachusetts- 11 fire departments enter agreement that allows them to exchange personnel if needed during the COVID-19 state of emergency. The departments of Athol, Barre, Erving, Gardner, New Salem, Orange, Petersham, Phillipston, Royalston, Templeton and Wendell may share manpower if necessary due to members falling ill or having to quarantene from the COVID-19 virus. Barre, Mass Fire Department- has been awarded a Federal grant in the amount of $82,761.90 for vehicle extrication equipment.

Belmont, Mass Fire Department- Fire Chief David Frizzell has retired. He served as chief since 2004. Posted in September.

Berkley, Mass Fire Department- has acquired a 1997 Ford F-350 250/350/Omaha brush truck. It has previously served in Medway, Mass. Posted in April.

Beverly, Mass Fire Department- is borrowing a Boston spare ladder truck after reserve Truck 2 went out of service for mechanical reasons. The city's primary ladder, Truck 1, has been out of service for repairs which left the department without a ladder truck. Posted in July.

Beverly, Mass Fire Department- Fire Chief Paul Cotter has announced he will retired after 34 years of service. Posted in August.

Beverly, Mass Fire Department- has been awarded a Federal grant in the amount of $165,909.09 for portable and mobile radios.

Billerica, Mass Fire Department- Engine 3 has been temporarily relocated to 6 Grove Street while the new Pinehurst fire station is under construction. Posted in June.

Bolton, Mass Fire Department- Bolton EMS has merged with the fire department and is now operated as one department under the fire chief. Posted in January.

Bondsville Fire (Palmer, Mass)- recently placed into service a 2016 Ford F-550/Pierce 250/280/10F light rescue as Squad 31. It replaces a 1994 International rescue and a brush truck. The truck had served with the South Hopkins, KY Fire Department and was purchased when the fire station had caught fire, causing all of their apparatus to be destroyed. The unit was used until late 2019 and then sold to Bondsville. Posted May 2020.

Boston Fire Department- has taken delivery of a 2005 Stewart & Stevenson/2019 Acela 500/1000/30F brush/high-water rescue unit. It will replace Brush 55's current 1997 International. Posted in February.

Boston Fire Department- Fire Commissioner Joseph Finn will retire on March 12th after nearly 36 years of service. Posted in March.

Boston Fire Department- has assigned a 2009 E-One Cyclone II 1250/500 to Engine 20. It had previously served with Engine 30 and Engine 21. Posted in March.

Boston Fire Department- Hackney has completed construction/installation of a new dive rescue body on the 2011 International 4400 chassis of the previous dive rescue unit (J20). The Hackney FP0778R body features a 20.8-ft heavy rescue body with seven (7) roll-up doors and forward personnel compartment. Posted in April.

Boston Fire Department- has new 2020 Chevy Suburbans for the District 1 Chief and the Safety Chief (H1). Posted in April.

Boston Fire Department- The Collapse Rescue (H6) has returned to service aftr having the 1997 Hackney body re-mounted to a 2020 Freightliner M2 chassis. Posted in April.
